Volunteering – Chinese Language Teaching

For year 2017 & 2018

Guide prices for per person 

 

Notes :
- The price includes transportation, accommodation and all meals.
- Four hours of teaching each day.
- Each day has some new social activity arranged.
- These are guide prices. 

Intro

This volunteering project is for native Chinese speakers. 

It is ideal for Chinese university students or trainee Chinese language teachers.  

Recipient of volunteers are Chinese language students. Some are studying in university level and some are studying in secondary school level.

This program is ideally conduced in groups. Minimum 10 Chinese volunteers are expected to run this program. 

If you happened to be a single individual who is interested in participating in next group, get in touch with us. We will arrange you a place to take part in this program. 

A certificate is issued to each volunteer by Cross Country Travels Sri Lanka at successful completion of this program. 

Prerequisite to be a Volunteer

1. You have to be engaging an university degree in any subject.

2. Or be a trainee teacher/translator of Chinese language.

3. Or explain in writing why you would be an ideal volunteer.

Preparations Needed

1. Introduction of your self
2. Introduce your village or the city
3. Preparation of one presentation by each on following subjects.
4. Pre-organised group works are highly praised. 

Subject Areas - History / culture / Chinese revolution / Chinese development / what Sri Lanka could learn from Chinese development / historical relations among Sri Lanka and China / and future relations among Sir Lanka and China.

Or a subject that you are really passionate about talking. 

Focus of the Program

To Sri Lankan students - offer an opportunity to mingle with native Chinese speakers and offer a brief insight into Chinese way of life.

 To Chinese volunteers - offer an exposure to Sri Lanka and its culture.

Extra Curricular Activities

 1. Visit to nearby interesting sites.
2. Encourage eating out with local students. 

Accommodations

Basic clean room with a fan, mosquito net and cold shower. Each room may accommodate 2-4 volunteers.  Comfortable room space. Photos in the gallery are a true representation of accommodation.

 

Meals

Meals are Sri Lankan meals.
