Sithulpawwa Sri Lanka

Journey deep into the wilderness of Yala National Park to visit the sacred Sithulpawwa Temple, one of Sri Lanka’s most peaceful ancient monasteries. Built by King Kavantissa (140–100 BC), this hidden temple is famously known as the “Hill of the Quiet Mind.”

As you travel by safari jeep through the sanctuary, the experience becomes more than a temple visit. Along the way, you may encounter elephants, deer, crocodiles, peacocks, and with some luck, even the famous Yala leopard roaming freely in the wild.

At the temple, explore ancient cave shrines, monastery ruins, Buddha statues, rock inscriptions, and centuries-old stupas surrounded by giant granite boulders. Climb to the upper stupa for breathtaking panoramic views across the forests of Yala.

This experience combines wildlife, history, spirituality, and adventure into one unforgettable journey with CCT Sri Lanka.
