Intro
Kalpitiya has become one of the best kite and windsurfing destinations in world. Red Bull campaigns and Rulebreaker Ruben have done a great deal to promote Sri Lankan wind and kite surfing community. Kalpitiya has two seasons. First season starts in May and it runs until October. In this period the morning wind is the best. Then the other season starts from December to March. In this season afternoon is the best wind. The wind speed averages about 18-20 knots (33-37 km) in both seasons. You could experience flatwater, waves and lagoon in Kalpitiya.
